Beginner JavaScript

These are some of the projects that the students will do during the camp.

This course was interesting and helped me learn the basics of JavaScript while creating fun projects. Me and my group could ask questions and get personal help with anything that was confusing. Overall it was very fun and I understood things well.

Students will learn JavaScript constructs such as variables, constants, data types (strings, numbers and dates), arrays, conditional statements, Boolean logic, and loops. It will be done through game projects such as number guessing, Paint, Calculator, Sudoku and others. The camp will focus on a very powerful HTML element - Canvas that will allow students to apply coordinate geometry.

While working on fun projects students will learn the following skills:

  • Data Building Blocks: Bits and Bytes
  • Variables and Constants
  • Variable Types
  • Operators: Assignment, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division and Concatenation
  • Boolean Operations
  • Comparisons and Conditions
  • While and For Loops
  • Random Numbers
  • Functions
  • Coordinate system
  • Canvas
  • Events

No previous experience with JavaScript is necessary.
